Background and Experience
Catherine completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Newcastle University in the UK. She has spent the past 20 years working in public mental health in Australia, working with a range of mental health issues, including severe mental illness and trauma.
Catherine is experienced in working with people experiencing adjustment, grief, depression, anxiety and mental health conditions. Catherine uses a positive approach to support people experiencing workplace stress or issues. Catherine tailors her approach to each person’s needs and uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, with a particular focus on ACT, solution focused brief therapy, CBT and positive psychology.
Catherine has experience delivering education, training, and professional supervision. She is a Board Approved Supervisor and enjoys supervising both postgraduate students, registrars, psychology colleagues and health professionals across disciplines. Catherine has also been involved in developing and delivering various clinically based research projects. She also has a passion for maintaining and enhancing the health, wellbeing and vitality of her mental health colleagues and has run several staff wellness projects.
