Professor Ben Richardson is Head of the School of Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy. His research focuses on how state-based phenomena (e.g., what someone is feeling or thinking ‘right now’) impact upon mental health and behaviours such as risky drinking.

Ben has developed a suite of smartphone apps and web platforms designed to facilitate: (i) ecological momentary assessment of individuals’ feelings and behaviours, and (ii) use self-monitoring data to provide tailored delivery of in-the-moment intervention. Links to Ben’s apps are below:

BlueWatch: a Rotary-funded app-based intervention designed to foster wellbeing in resilience in individuals with depression.

InstantSurvey: a mobile data collection platform.
