RESEARCH
Welcome to psychological research at Cairnmillar.
From the very beginning of its establishment as a science and discipline, the scientist practitioner model has been central to psychology’s identity. Recently, the scientist practitioner model has been operationalised as a commitment to evidence based practice. Cairnmillar Institute values the nexus between professional practice, teaching and research and supports and encourages the research of its staff and students.
The core focus of research at Cairnmillar is professional practice and the development of a knowledge base that supports the education and professional development of practitioners.
The prime responsibility for leadership in research, and delivery of Cairnmillar Institute’s research agenda, lies with the Research and Post Graduate Management Committee, chaired by the Research Coordinator. This role is supported by the Research Advisory Committee, composed of eminent researchers from the profession and other research institutions.
